Ireland Announces Six Changes for Rugby Rematch Against Japan in Cork

by admin477351

For their upcoming rematch against Japan in Cork, Ireland has introduced six changes to their starting lineup following a 31-24 victory in Galway last Sunday. This strategic shift sees Jane Clohessy and Niamh Gallagher making their first starts for the team, while Sophie Barrett, Kate Jordan, and Alana McInerney are set to potentially earn their international debuts from the bench.

The front row will feature the return of Linda Djougang at loosehead prop, joining Neve Jones and Eilís Cahill. In the second row, Clohessy will start alongside Fiona Tuite-O’Sullivan. Emily Lane also makes her way back into the lineup at scrum-half, partnering with fly-half Dannah O’Brien.

In the backline, Aoife Dalton returns to the center position, teaming up with Anna McGann. On the wings, Robyn O’Connor takes her place on the left, while Beibhinn Parsons maintains her spot on the right. Gallagher shifts into the full-back position, adding depth to the squad’s defensive and attacking options.

Notably, the back row remains unchanged, with captain Erin King, Brittany Hogan, and Jemima Adams Verling providing stability and continuity in those positions.
